Swimming with Manta rays is a surreal experience. They are exceptionally agile for their size and have very few natural predators. They are not afraid of humans and will often swim past you within inches. This can be intimidating at first, given they have a wingspan in excess of 11 ft. If you can hold your nerve, the close encounters make for some incredible photos. This one was only a foot or two away from me when it passed overhead like an angel.
